SP298 Dot Matrix Slip Printer |
Star Micronics is happy to announce a new impact technology printer, the the SP298 autoload slip.Ideal for applications involving slips, credit card and check validation, the SP298 has been designed to fit a strong requirement in our POS markets. With its ability to print both text and graphics, the printer enables a user to introduce a form into the station for automatic document clamping, instant top of form alignment and speedy slip ejection.
The SP298 features a 9-pin serial impact print mechanism with graphics capabilities. The fast 3.1 LPS print speed enables time efficient printing with an original plus a 2 part form. 42 maximum columns with a print width of 63mm allow for credit card application compatibility.
A strong market for the SP298 slip is in replacement of current slip printers in the field. The SP298 RS-232C serial interface makes it a drop in replacement for the Epson TM-290 or TM-295 series slip printer. With ESC/POS TM Emulation manipulated via dip switch, and an Epson compatible power supply interface, the SP298 can be a DROP IN REPLACEMENT for the above competitive printers. Plus having a compatible cash drawer driver circuit, the same printer footprint, and similar operation panel controls, its easy to see why the SP298 has been deigned as a viable and simple replacement.
It is important to remember that currently the SP298 is available in a serial RS-232 C 25-pin interface. It also requires a universal power supply. The part numbers are as follows:
