The SP298 is a serial dot matrix impact slip printer. Ideal for check
validation, check franking, restaurant hard check and document printing,
the SP298 has been designed to fill a strong requirement from existing
markets and customers. Unlike many existing slip printers, the Star Micronics
SP298 slip printer is designed for user friendly operation.
It features AutoSide Loading™, making document loading quick, easy,
and reliable. The SP298 employs a 9-pin serial impact print head, top and
bottom form sensors, easy ribbon loading and stepping motor paper feed for
reliable paper handling, graphics and bar code capabilities. OPOS Drivers
available soon.
Features:
- Serial impact dot matrix printer
Printing on pre-printed and non-pre-printed forms is ideal. Using impact
technology, multi-part printing is possible (original+2 copies).
- Automatic top of form alignment
Upon paper insertion, top of form is automatically detected.
- Graphics capable printing
Since the printer is equipped with a 9-pin head and a stepping motor
for paper-feeding, it is capable of versatile printing, such as graphic
printing, reversion of white and black, and page-revolving printing.
- AutoSide Loading™
The printer features paper AutoSide Loading™ making document loading
quick, easy and reliable. The user can simply introduce a form into
the side of the station and the printer performs automatic document
clamping, instant top of form alignment, fast printing and selectable
forward or reverse document eject.
- Command compatibility
The Printer emulates the EPSON TM-295 command set. The TM-295 emulation
is based on ESC/POS.
- Check Printing (Page mode)
Printing onto laterally-long forms, in edition to vertically-long ones,
is possible by regarding a check as one page and conducting 0 °,
90 °, 180 °, and 270 ° rotation of each page (Page mode).
In the Star mode, checks are printed quickly, due to bi-directional
printing mode.
- Dual cash drawer driver
The printer is equipped with 2 circuits to drive external devices, such
as a cash drawer.
- External power supply (Optional)
A switching-type universal power supply is available.
